To pursuit my career, it is important to have a deeply self analysis and understanding. The following SWOT analysis is used to make dissect on myself on my Strengths (S), Weaknesses (W), Opportunities (O), and Threats (T).

 

Internal factors

Strengths (S)

· Having a high verbal communication skill

I have many times of successful presentation experience in school and in academic exchanges. In addition, I have a strong sense of humour and a talent of skilful talking, which can always make me change my enemies into friends.

· Creative and having a strong practical ability when working

I did many manual works to improve my practical ability when I was young, and I also got a high idea gaining skills from those experienced.

· Strong attention to details

When doing my work, I always try to understand the every detail, and not shy away from seeking advice and assistance if I am unsure.

· Strong sense of responsibilities

 If there is a work for me, I must do the work by using the most effort I could.

· Concentrate on work, and has a good ability of study

I only concentrate on my work when I am working, and I can easily to find a good way to study no matter I like it or not.

 

Weaknesses (W)

· Not decisive enough in making decisions

When making important decisions, I always consider too much about others and the consequences, which sometimes causes a delay of time.

· Having a low sense of competition

I sometimes afraid of compete with others, and this may cause me lose my chance.

· Lack of professional knowledge and working experiences

Although I am studying finance in collage, I still lack of knowledge in some specific area; I have no enough working experiences as well.

· Do not have a skilled use of financial software and internet

I am lack of computer skills, and have a low sense of using the internet to help with work.

 

External factors

Opportunities (O)

· The world economy is now at its recession period, professional financial workers are in a high demand.

· Corporations are heading to more international, and multi-language speakers are popular in need.

· A lot of positions and activities hold in Australia, easier to get knowledge and working experiences than other countries.

· A multinational corporation has a higher demand of foreign workers instead of natives to get new ideas and do international finance.

Threats (T)

· The number of people is more than the available positions, so there is a rat race to getting suitable positions.

· With the development of international finance, companies need employees in higher educated, which causes employees chasing higher education.

· The educational background is not a strong advantage of employees anymore, more employers pay attention to people’s study ability and plasticity.

SWOT strategies

 

SO strategy

· Pay more attention to the existed abilities, increase the language skills of Chinese, English, and Japanese, and self-enrich with professional knowledge.

· Collect as much information of financial positions as could, get an overview of what kind of employees the companies would like to use, and get prepared.

ST strategy

· Increase the ability of study by reading related books and attending to finance lectures to cover the disadvantages caused by the fast changing of world.

WO strategy

· Gain more working experiences by doing correlative works. Try to do some enterprise works in big companies.

· As a financial manager, strong decision making ability is needed. Trying to make more big decisions by own, and get evaluations from others.

WT strategy

· Attending to more competitive games to improve the sense of competition and build a strong aspiration of success.

· Doing master degree of finance to enhance the specialized skills and competitive power.
